My name is Dan Pesato and I am from Vermilion, Ohio. For
those of you who are questioning where you could locate this town, my immediate
reference is that it is about 20 minutes east of Cedar Point. In high school, I
played four years of varsity golf, and two years of baseball and basketball. I
currently play basketball and football for intramurals each year, and play golf
recreationally each season. I would have to say that my favorite sport to play
is basketball, and favorite to watch is football. I am an avid New York Jets
fan due to the fact that my dad grew up in Long Island, New York. I have been
watching them my entire life. Throughout high school I spent much of my time
around sports, and in the end that finalized my decision to attend Bowling
Green for the highly respected sport management program. Alex Morgan and Abby
Wambach are the two female athletes that I would like to see play. I chose two,
because after watching these two represent for the female population during the
World Cup I feel that they are a package deal when it comes to wanting to watch
them play. The male athlete that I would like to see compete is J.R. Smith. He
is an explosive player and truly shows passion while he is on the court. I feel
that I relate to him in that aspect, because I am very competitive and always
put everything I have into a game. I don’t have any concerns about taking this
class in terms of the subjects we will be discussing.
Dan,
ReplyDeleteRough season being a New York Jets fan, but I can relate seeing how the Eagles were absolutely humiliating to watch. My personal opinion is that the Jets should have given Tim Tebow a chance to play. They were out of the playoffs early and I just do not understand why they wouldn’t give him a chance. They brought him there to do something, and I think they wasted a year to give him a chance. Obviously there is something there after his season with the Broncos. What is a Jets fan opinion?
Taylor,
DeleteAs a Jets fan, I agree completely. I have been asked this question countless times, and I feel that they wasted a year on Tim Tebow without giving the guy a chance at the starting position. He may not be the best asset at quarterback, but if he led the Broncos to a playoff win over the Steelers, who is to say that he couldn't have led the Jets to some victories also?

ReplyDeleteHi Dan,
ReplyDeleteLike Taylor, I wondered the same thing - how did you feel as a Jets fan about the "fiasco" of a season with Tim Tebow not playing? The only thing I could figure was that it wasn't Rex Ryan's decision to bring him in to play. If that was the case, then I would expect him to be gone next year. But do you really think Mark Sanchez can do the job? I totally agree with your choice of the two female athletes who would be great to see. I have really enjoyed watching the current U.S. Women's Soccer team play - both in the World Cup in 2011 and the Olympics this past summer. I'm not as familiar with J.R. Smith.
This is a good introduction and I look forward to reading more of your entries.
