Introduction: Adam Shanabrook
Hey everyone! My name is Adam Shanabrook and I'm from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The town of Mechanicsburg is located about 30 minutes north of Gettysburg. In high school I played football for two years and track and field for four years, where I was a thrower. Here at BGSU, I continue to play football and basketball on the intramural level. For the female athlete that I would want to see I couldn't choose just one, so I chose both of the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena. I chose them because of what they have done for the game of tennis. I would also like to see how they interact on the court compared to other tennis players who are not related. For the male athlete I would choose Michael Phelps. I chose him because of how dominant he is in his sport. A lot of people watched the swimming events at the Olympics this summer to see if he could continue his dominance over the rest of the swimming world. I don't have any issues with any of the topics that we will be discussing in class and look forward to hearing other people's opinions on these topics.

ReplyDeleteI always wondered where Gettysburg was because when I was growing up I bought a square foot of the Gettysburg battlefield. I wonder how many people did that! I can relate to the athletes you mentioned that you would like to see. Unfortunately I did not get to see many of Michael Phelps' races because I was in England during the 2012 Olympics. That might seem strange, but they were mostly showing British athletes on the BBC. I did see a lot of matches in which Venus and Serena Williams played singles and doubles and it was great to see them play! They seem to have so much fun playing doubles. If you ever get a chance to see them play in Cincinnati, that would be a great opportunity.
