Hi everyone, Im Josh Kovacs and I am from Columbia Station, Ohio. My town is about 35 miles Southwest of Cleveland, Ohio. My town is very rural; we only have two stop lights, no gas stations, grocery stores, or major businesses.
I played basketball through middle school and high school for our school team. I played indoor and some outdoor soccer starting about my junior year and continued up until now. Currently I compete in recreational leagues and intramural leagues during summer close to home and also for BGSU. The sports Im apart of for these leagues include flag football, volleyball, dodgeball, and basketball.
The female athlete I would like to see is Brittney Griner due to her pure women's basketball dominance. She was unanimously chosen as the best high school basketball player her senior year and has been an All-American selection every year of her college career at Baylor University. She stands taller than most other players at 6 foot, 8 inches and weighing 208 pounds! Here is a link to her statistics at Baylor. The male athlete that I would like to see is Lionel Messi due to him being basically the best offensive soccer player in the world. He scores goals that make highlight reels every week on Sportcenter. Messi is also ranked #11 on the highest paid athletes according to Forbes.
I do not have any concerns about subjects in class and I am just looking forward to learning all I can on a subject that I find interesting due to the growth in women's sports before the recession of our economy. I believe women's sport will one day be closer to reach the status that mens has but it will take sponsorship money and the help of men's leagues to push it along.
